Art on my sleeve

Inspired from Bombay, Lokesh Karekar draws prints for Bombay Shirt Company

Lokesh Karekar, founder of Mumbai-based studio Locopopo, collaborated with Bombay Shirt Company, and designed prints for the brand’s latest collection. Karekar’s illustrations for the collection reflects his view of the Indian aesthetics and forms by focusing on symbology in Indian culture. The illustrations were transferred on to fabrics, from which the limited edition shirts were made. This limited-edition collection has three prints — ‘Symmetry’, inspired by forms of Indian architecture; ‘Parallel’, inspired by co-existence of different people in the city; and ‘Balance’, inspired by Indian stone carved human figures.

The shirts are available at the physical and online stored of Bombay Shirt Company.
