MIT Media Lab

Deepak Jagdish is a computational media researcher from the MIT Media Lab (Cambridge). His work focuses on architecting new perspectives of systems, and spans across varied domains such as visualization, mapping, perception, network science, data mining, accessibility, interface design, etc. His most recent export from the lab is ‘Immersion’ – a visual exploration of the people and events embedded in your email life.

Deepak is an alumnus of DAIICT (Gandhinagar), where he was exposed to computer science, signal processing and design, and also of Georgia Tech (Atlanta) where he pursued ideas in Human-Computer Interaction. He then worked at Nokia Research (Palo Alto), as a member of the Data Insight team creating insight-driven visualizations using large-scale real-time data. Most happy while working on multidisciplinary projects that allow him to gain knowledge in new domains and discover new perspectives, he also believes that there’s more we should learn from the past.
